Culture and Information Literacy Video

This is a video I created (with help from the school's video production team) for my introductory Information Literacy class. It was meant to broach the subject of Culture and Information Literacy. It can be used to generate a discussion or as a reflection writing assignment catalyst. I would LOVE feedback on this please.

History: A likely story….

https://thewordsmithcollection.wordpress.com/2016/09/10/history-a-likely-story/

Her story, his story, the winners' story or the real story...

“Human history becomes more and more a race between education and catastrophe.”
― H.G. Wells

“History is a set of lies agreed upon.”
― Napoléon Bonaparte

“And the renderings for torture, rape and murder continue…
while Chump and Clinton battle over who gets to accelerate the expansion of our ugly imperial demockracy. And Obama, while telling us to trust him, has claimed the right of kings to murder at will… and has killed innocent Americans in our name. Sometimes history screams.”

The demise of the United States as the global superpower could come far more quickly than anyone imagines. A realistic assessment of domestic and global trends suggests that in 2025, just 15 years from now, it could all be over except for the shouting.

This is pretty great, Max. Your narration is very gentle and the questions you pose are thought-provoking.

Was this part of LIB101? I usually teach it in a five week schedule online. Which week did you introduce it? I think it would be a great way to introduce a new kind of critical thinking about information sources to go along with the other analytical tools (website evaluation, fake news detection, etc.)
